Anthony Edwards NAPA
I'm a relative newcomer, having taken up painting in my 50s and being largely self taught. Over the past couple of years I've been painting exclusively in acrylics, being drawn to their fast drying properties and versatility.
Still learning and adapting, my process involves working in multiple layers, blocking in large areas and adding detail in the later stages, with the brush. As well as improving composition and depth, I find that this method helps me to move away from my earlier obsession with drawing in all the detail early on.
My subject matter is quite varied. I work from my own photo references, so if something takes my interest, I'll take as many snaps as I can.
